How Do Dental Implants Work?

A small cut is made into your gum, the implant which consists of a small titanium rod is fitted to your jawbone and a replacement tooth is fitted on top.

Over time the rod and your jawbone fuse together so that your tooth implant looks and feels like one of your own teeth.

There are several types of dental implants. Your dentist can talk through the options and discuss which are right for you.

I’m so happy I chose Reading smile and Dr Sonam for my Invisalign. From the very beginning he explained everything very clearly and made me feel super comfortable. The end result is so good, I’m so happy about my teeth now! He also removed a tooth before the Invisalign process. I was very scared about the process but he made me feel very comfortable and at ease. He explained every single step and in the end it didn’t hurt as much as I was expecting . I have to commend Chloe (who did my cleaning) she was GREAT. She seems to be a lovely person in general and this seeps right into how she handles her patients. I'll definitely request her on my next visit. The job was thorough and so gentle, she also made sure to educate me on how to maintain my teeth going forward, I can see that she actually puts care into her job. She also did my daughter's teeth and she didn't seem at all uncomfortable during the process (she's 9). The nurse with us (Lavimia) also helped make the whole process a smoothe one, thank you to her as well!

I’ve avoided visiting a dentist for 9 years. I finally decided I wanted Invisalign and saw smile rooms on google. I was called the day after I left an enquiry, the lady on the phone was very friendly and left me feeling excited. When I came for my appointment, I was surprised at how cosy the reception area is, I felt very comfortable waiting to be seen. Dr Galloway was fantastic, the nicest dentist I’ve ever met. I had two types of X-rays and a scan. I wasn’t made to feel bad for not brushing enough, I was kindly advised. The lady who talked me through payment plans was also great, very down to earth and good at her job. As someone who has an absolute phobia of both needles and dentists, due to childhood trauma, I cannot recommend this practice highly enough, including every member of staff I interacted with, the reception staff, the nurses and the amazing Dr Nhova, who understood my phobia, didn't dismiss it but instead put me at ease throughout my treatment. From someone who was terrified of having a broken tooth removed the whole experience couldn't have gone any smoother. Amy on reception was brilliant, friendly and really helped to calm my nerves. Once there Keisha Patel and her assistant had the broken tooth out with no pain at all. Also Amy was the only receptionist who sympathized with the fact I was in pain and couldn't eat and booked me in immediately with no fuss explaining all the possible problems and solutions of removing a broken tooth. I’ve always been a nervous patient when visiting any dentist but here I feel at so much ease. Dr Radha did my bonding which I’ve wanted for years and I love them!! They look so natural and she’s completely restored the appearance of my teeth.You can see she really enjoys doing what she does and loves creating your smile with you. I also appreciated that after the bonding she advised to take a week or two and to see how it feels incase any tweaks were wanted. Rather than risk taking too much away and having me regretting it. I also suffer with TMJ so having some extra time to let my jaw rest/ settle was ideal as it helped to navigate the minor tweaks needed for my bite.I highly recommend seeing Dr Radha Sisodia, her and her team are just great and you won’t regret it. If I wasn’t so busy working I’d post photos for you to see for yourself but hopefully I can upload those at later date.

I wanted to have bonding done to the front of my teeth and I honestly am so happy with the results as they turned out exactly how I wanted and look so natural, Aidan did such a fantastic job whilst being assisted by nurse Kallinia. He listen to all of my concerns and expectations and really delivered on the final results! They were both so professional, friendly and attentive throughout the whole experience they made me feel so comfortable. The reception staff as well on all of my visits have been so welcoming and friendly every time which just adds to the whole overall experience being wonderful. 10/10 would recommend this lovely dental practice and it’s team especially if you are wanting bonding done as I can’t get over how great everything turned out Aidan did an amazing job! They are both amazing, professional and especially got some great humour.I have had general dentistry done including examination and wisdom tooth extraction (non-surgical). Dr Nigel takes his time to explain things, making sure I understand everything and appointments/decisions patient-centred.
